We leverage the power of research, training, and collaboration to empower individuals and communities, fostering a brighter future for Africa.

Training & Interventions

Tailored Training Programs

AFRIB is committed to building capacity across Africa through a range of training programs, workshops, and intervention strategies. We tailor our interventions to address the unique needs and contexts of different regions, ensuring cultural relevance and maximizing impact.

AFRIB offers training programs for various target audiences, including:

Educators

We equip educators with the knowledge and skills to create supportive learning environments, promote mental health literacy, and address social-emotional learning in the classroom.

Policymakers

Our training programs for policymakers provide evidence-based information on social challenges to inform policy decisions and resource allocation

Community Workers

We train community workers on critical topics like mental health awareness, substance abuse prevention, and life skills development, empowering them to support individuals and communities effectively.

Youth Leaders

AFRIB empowers youth leaders with the tools they need to advocate for positive change, address peer challenges, and promote youth development in their communities.

Some of AFRIB's Training Programs:

Promoting Mental Health Literacy in Rural Communities: This multi-country project utilizes storytelling workshops, community radio broadcasts, and culturally adapted educational materials to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health in rural settings. (Available resources in English, French, Kiswahili)

Empowering Youth Through Life Skills Development: This program equips young people with critical life skills, promoting positive decision-making, healthy relationships, and economic empowerment. (Available resources in English, Portuguese)

Strengthening Community Responses to Substance Abuse: This intervention works with community leaders and youth organizations to implement prevention and support strategies for youth at risk of substance abuse. (Available resources in English, Hausa)

Community Mobilization Campaigns

We raise awareness about critical issues through culturally appropriate campaigns using radio, traditional media, and community events.

Life Skills Development Programs

These programs equip individuals with essential life skills like communication, problem-solving, and decision-making, empowering them to navigate life's challenges.

Peer Support Groups

AFRIB facilitates support groups for individuals facing similar challenges, fostering a sense of community and promoting resilience.

Mental Health Service Integration

We collaborate with healthcare providers to integrate mental health services into existing healthcare systems, improving access and reducing stigma.

Mental Health First Aid Training: This program equips participants with the skills to identify signs and symptoms of mental health conditions and provide initial support. (Available in English, French, Swahili)

Positive Parenting Practices Workshop: This workshop explores culturally relevant strategies for effective parenting, fostering healthy child development. (Available in English, Amharic, Yoruba)

Social-Emotional Learning Integration Training: This training program equips educators with techniques to integrate social-emotional learning into their curriculums across diverse African contexts. (Available in English, French, Wolof)
